The NRW GREEN Virtual Indie Expo 2020, funded by the Premier of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia, featured selected games from international Indie studios that are currently in development or ready to publish.
All virtual game booths were accessable through PINE, the official event & matchmaking app supported by gamescom.
A Leap Forward A RTS game in which you give tasks to your exceptionally smart rabbits and they figure out the best way to fulfill it. You can help out directly, or provide them with tools and buildings to increase productivity.
Aritana and the Twin Masks This 2nd Aritana’s adventure extends gameplay possibilities, bringing a bow and arrow gameplay, 3D movement, vast sceneries in open landscapes and powers that will help the player solve several puzzles.
Bämeräng A fast paced boomerang fighting game for 2 to 4 players. Fight for the favor of the goddess in a colorful outlandish world. Whoever collects a certain amount of points first, gets declared winner by the goddess.
Beam A puzzle platformer in which you can manipulate lightbeams to interact with them. Make your way through a crashed spaceship, a dark and eerie spaceship graveyard and finally escape through a system of caves.
Bloom: Memories Bloom is a refreshing new take on the action RPG. Inspired by games such as the classic Zelda (with deeper mechanics, art and story). A game, where killing is optional and creatures act on realistic desires.
Cage against the machine A 2D action platformer set in a fictional Hollywood where all actors are replaced by cheap doubles. The protagonist Nikk is Nicolas Cage’s biggest fan and has made it his mission to find his idol again.
Calorie Defenders An adventure where you play as veggies inside the body helping defend the Hunger against adorable candy. It’s a mix of action platforming and tower defense combat with a slight bit of Metroidvania like exploration.
Cats and the Other Lives A narrative experience that explores the reunion of a broken family from the perspective of their house cat, Aspen. Is the cat just a witness, or does this animal have a more mysterious role in our lives than we anticipate?
City of Beats A music-driven rogue-lite shooter in which you explore a futuristic city above the clouds. Experience top-down shooter combat where enemies are controlled by the music and your weapons shoot the melody.
Conscript A survival horror game inspired by classics of the genre – set in 1916 during the Great War. Conscript will blend all the punishing mechanics of older horror games into a cohesive, tense, and unique experience.
Critical Zone The game is a political brawler. Play as one of the world’s leaders to fight in space on crazy levels/planets. It’s all pixelated, so you know who you are playing but you can’t really tell for sure, who it is in real life.
Curved Space An intense synthwave shooter with a dizzying modern take on the classic arcade shooter. Bullets, beams and bizarre alien energy spiders warp around asteroids, space stations and physics-defying mobius strips.
Drova – Forsaken Kin A role-playing game that focuses on combat and discovery. Develop your character, learn new fighting and crafting skills, find treasures, explore and fight to your heart’s content in the world of Drova.
DURU (A Game About Mole Rats & Depression) While solving puzzles with an AI companion that works with and against them, players follow a story about the struggle with insecurities, darkness and friendship.
Festival Tycoon A game about planning, financing and running a successful music festival. Separated into the building part and a RTS live play part, the game provides some unique mechanics and refreshes the genre.
First Class Trouble An asymmetric multiplayer game that blends cooperation and deception as players try to figure out who they can trust as they fight to survive aboard a luxury space cruise-liner that’s had an A.I. uprising.
Forge and Fight! Craft, Beat, Repeat! As a blacksmith gladiator you must experiment with over-the-top weapon builds and engage in frenzied fighting, either in the online arena or the open-ended sandbox mode.
Fourzy A competitive online board game where the goal is to connect 4 or more game pieces called Fourzies. It’s played in a variety of different worlds with obstacles on the board that create ever changing gameplay.
Gamedec A single-player, non-combat, cyberpunk RPG. Solve crimes inside virtual worlds. The game emulates the nature of a tabletop RPG by focusing on multiple, choice-dependent, character-building scenarios.

Grid Fight: Mask of the Goddess A swift tactical/action game that follows the story of Donna and her friends across the all-female cities of Gora. Battle in grid-shaped arenas and convince, defeat or recruit more than 100 original characters.
Hellcard A co-op roguelike deckbuilder with singleplayer and multiplayer modes. Descend into the paper dungeons, recruit computer-controlled companions or join other gamers in fast-paced tactical card battles.
Knights of Fortune A 3-minute, 3v3 hero brawler, with an emphasis on character customisation and teamwork. Choose a hero, equip skills and talents, and fight with up to two friends for crystals, fame and fortune.
Kriophobia A survival horror game inspired by the classics that marked the genre. Follow Anna, a lonesome scientist, trapped in a cold soviet facility in the depths of Siberia where long forgotten secrets are revealed.
Lord Winklebottom Investigates A 1920s murder mystery, point and click adventure featuring a giraffe detective. A mysterious invitation to an isolated island results in a grisly murder and a race against time to track down the killer.
Make Ends Meet A 1920s themed mobile puzzle game, complete with smooth jazz and sleazy businessmen. Each level involves a fun drawing mechanic, where you draw around the screen to collect enough colors to continue.
Midnight Protocol Hack into servers, beat security and steal encrypted data in a world where your identity is just another network address. Midnight Protocol is a tactical narrative-driven RPG set in a near future.
